well into two weeks now of working non stop. I can't wait till my first full day off - labor day. 4 whole weeks from now. At least I am having money come in. Which means bills are getting paid. And people have started to stop calling at all hours or the day and night to get money. It's like ok, guess what, if I haven't picked up your call it's cuz I have no money. Ok Capital One. Believe me, if I had the money I would pay you back. it's like I know there are degenerates in this world that never pay what they owe. but right now, there are TONS of people that just can't pay anything besides the basics roof over head and food in belly. for crying out loud, one of my college roommates is actually living in a homeless shelter. Times are tough! |

| waiting |
[Aug. 10th, 2009|03:44 pm] |
Killing time waiting to head home. Now that I am in my second full week of my new - albeit temporary - work schedule, I've figured it all out. I just have to leave the office by 4 and I can make either of the other two night jobs on time. It was costing me a fortune in cabs. Only 5 bucks a trip, but it ads up. So now I can do it all on my metronorth pass and metrocard. Cuz the whole reason why I am killing myself working this hard is to get enough money to pay down all my debt and even out with the rest of the bills. It's stupid if it all goes down the train on carfare. |

| Been a long time |
[Aug. 7th, 2009|09:44 am] |
It's been a mighty long time since I've posted an entry. And a large number of situations and life changes have come to pass. I got laid off from two jobs within 11 months of each other. One was when the company I worked for got bought out. The other was I was working for a crappy can't name it company and as hard as I work - the boss just didn't want to pay me. Such is life. Since then I've been puttering about earning cash as a tutor, babysitter, working as a sales associate at bed bath & beyond and most recently a temp position as an office slave. Also, I got diagnosed with Lupus, which solved a lot of my what the heck is wrong with me health concerns. Since then I've taken a big dip in my athletic activities. This year I only did 2 charity races. I won't be able to do any till next year. Kevin and I got married in May - mainly because I have no health insurance - i do now. Woohoo. And we'll be having a party sometime next summer when we are more financial stable and not working 12 to 15 hours a day, 7 days a week to keep a roof over our heads and all those other things.

Bill in Congress
A mastectomy is when a woman's breast is removed in
order to remove cancerous breast cells/tissue. If you
know anyone who has had a mastectomy, you may know
that there is a lot of discomfort and pain afterwards.
Insurance companies are trying to make mastectomies an outpatient procedure. Let's give women the chance to recover properly in the hospital for 2 days after
surgery.
Mastectomy Bill in Congress
It takes 2 seconds to do this and is very important...
please take the time and do it really quick!
Breast Cancer Hospitalization Bill - Important
legislation for all women.
Please send this to everyone in your address book. If there was ever a time when our voices and choices should be heard, this is one of those times. If you're receiving this, it's because I think you will take the 30 seconds to go to vote on this issue and send it on to others you know who will do the same.
There's a bill called the Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act which will require insurance companies to cover a minimum 48-hour hospital stay for patients undergoing a mastectomy. It's about eliminating the "drive-through mastectomy" where women are forced to go home just a few hours after surgery, against the wishes of their doctor, still groggy from anesthesia
and sometimes with drainage tubes still attached.
Lifetime Television has put this bill on their web page with a petition drive to show your support. Last year over half the House signed on.
PLEASE!! Sign the petition by clicking on the web site below. You need not give more than your name and zip code.
http://www.lifetimetv.com/health/breast_mastectomy_pledge.html <http://www.lifetimetv.com/health/breast_mastectomy_pledge.html>
This takes about 2 seconds. PLEASE PASS THIS ON to your friends and family and, on behalf of all women, THANKS. |
